Husband of alleged attack on US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi ‘wanted to break her kneecap’ | US News

The suspect in the attack on the husband of U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told police he wanted to take her hostage and “break her kneecap,” court documents show.

The U.S. Department of Justice has charged 42-year-old David DePape with assault and attempted kidnapping.

In court documents, DePape said he would detain Mrs. Pelosi and speak to her.

If she told him the “truth” he would let her go, if she “lies” he would break “her kneecap”.

DePape is accused of breaking into Pelosi’s home and assaulting 82-year-old Paul Pelosi on Friday.

Mr. Pelosi underwent surgery for a fractured skull and injuries to his hand and right arm, his wife’s office said. Doctors expect a full recovery.
