If you ask Loretta Lynn, he’s a “musical genius,” if you ask Richard Lewis, he’s “very funny.”

Todd Snyder Today launched “Live: Return Of The Storyteller,” 27 tracks filmed on his debut show after allowing audiences to gather again last year. For a lifelong bard, there was a palpable surge of emotion when Snyder reunited with fans after an uncertain period for the better part of three years before the pandemic…joy, relief and gratitude; and the poignant reality of lost friends along the way. For Snider, that includes some of the great American songwriters who put him under his wing, such as the late legends John Prine and Jerry Jeff Walker. In “Live: Return Of The Storyteller,” he honors these heroes with moving and incredible human tributes as he continues to bring their musical spirit into an unknown age of bard tradition.

With the release of “Live: Return Of The Storyteller,” Snider’s songs continue to gain popularity in music and art. Filmmaker Justin Corsbie took inspiration from the lyrics of the middle-aged Snider fan-favorite song “Just Like Old Times” and turned it into “Unfortunate Love Song”; a full-length feature film that hit theaters last fall. Music writer Brian T. Atkinson is currently writing a biography of Snider, in which he interviews some of the songwriter’s ardent fans, including Loretta Lynn and Richard Lewis. Snyder was also just inducted into his state’s Oregon Music Hall of Fame, and Tom Jones covered his “” Talking Reality Television Blues”. Through it all, Snyder continues to shine a light on an incredible generation of bards before him, touring this year with Ramblin’ Jack Elliott and Ray Wylie Hubbard and the next generation including Lilly Hiatt and Tommy Prine.

Todd Snider will continue his tour of the American bard with a special hometown tour with Ramblin’ Jack tomorrow night at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, with dozens of appointments running through the end of the year.
