Jeremy Renner thanked his medical team as he celebrated his 52nd birthday. The actor is continuing to recover from injuries sustained in a snowplow accident.

Jeremy Renner shared an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) update on Friday, January 6 after he was critically injured in a snowplow accident.

“Thank you to the renowned ICU medical team for starting this journey,” Renner wrote on the image shared to his Instagram Story. The snapshot shows the actor in a hospital bed, surrounded by medical professionals.

The post late Friday was the third update Renner has shared since being hospitalized. He underwent two surgeries for blunt force trauma to the chest and an orthopedic injury after he was run over by a snowplow near his Nevada home on New Year’s Day. His publicist previously told CNN that the Marvel star was clearing snow from his driveway when the accident occurred.

Rainer also shared a short video of supporters dancing to 50 Cent’s “In Da Club,” wishing him a happy birthday and thanking them for their “birthday love.”

Several other actors also sent birthday wishes to Reina. “Happy birthday to one of the strongest people I know,” Chris Evans wrote on his Instagram Story, along with a photo of Reiner. “Sending so much love your way.”

Washoe County Sheriff Darin Balaam said at a news conference Tuesday that Renner’s Snowcat, an engine-powered machine used to clear snow, started rolling when Renner was not in the driver’s seat. Baran said he was injured trying to get back into the machine. When Reina was injured, his family was by his side.

Authorities received a 911 call about the accident on New Year’s Day morning. The highway was closed due to severe winter weather. Helicopters were used to take Reina to hospital due to bad weather.
