Mr. Beast has overtaken PewDiePie as the most subscribed YouTuber.
PewDiePie, real name Felix Kjellberg, held the title for nearly a decade and became the platform’s most subscribed star in 2013.
Swede specializes in game reaction videos, making him the first YouTubers More than 100 million users by 2019.
But Mr. Beast eventually dethroned him, and this month he hit his 112 millionth subscriber, surpassing PewDiePie’s 111 million. Exact numbers won’t appear on streaming sites.
Mr. Beast’s videos aren’t video games, but focus on charity, seeing him give away large amounts of cash, prizes, and doing charitable work.
In his videos, he gives away a private jet, remakes the Netflix show Squid Game for cash prizes, and offers people $100,000 to quit their jobs.
He also attempted challenges such as being buried alive, being hunted down by the FBI, and building the world’s largest LEGO tower.
A video in September showed him crowding a New Jersey mall, expanding from the internet world to real life, to watch him open a burger joint.
PewDiePie has previously said that Mister Beast will “definitely” pull him from the top spot in the end.
“I can’t wait for it to be over. He absolutely deserves it. I hope he does,” he said in a video in August.
Outside of the world of YouTube, Donaldson has other ventures, including his MrBeast Burger virtual restaurant, another food company called Feastables, and has money in a number of investment funds and fintech firms.
However, Mr. Beast’s channel is still not the most subscribed channel on the platform, an award that belongs to Indian music video company T-Series with more than 229 million subscribers.
